Trail Overview

Experience this exclusive 18 days trek where you can rediscover yourself in the very relaxing sight of the Himalayas. Situated at 4000 meters of altitude, between the Himalayas and the Indus valley and to the west of the Rupshu region can be found the isolated valleys of Zanskar, the population of which is Buddhist. In this trek you pass through the lush Kulu Valley and cross the Rohtang Pass to reach the start of our trek at Palamo. From here, we head north across the Zanskar Sumdo (3750 m) by covering approx 40 kms into the ancient kingdom of Zanskar, famous for its hardy inhabitants and starkly beautiful landscape. En route, we encounter a succession of isolated villages and several wonderful Buddhist monasteries, notably at Padum, Ringdum Gompa and Bepul. As a finale to what is unquestionably one of the world's classic trekking experiences, there is also time to explore Kargil and the fascinating Ladakhi capital of Leh.
