Day 1: Dehradun - Mori river campsite (210 km) - 8 h drive

We start early from Dehradun and reach Mori River campsite by evening. We spend the night in tents at Mori. The final 22 km are through the Govind national park and is a very beautiful ride.

Day 2: Mori River Campsite - Sankri – Trek to Juda Talab (2850m) – 4 km 

Post breakfast we start our drive till Sankri and trek towards Juda Talab. The path goes through Saud village and is a gentle climb. A lot of local village women will be seen on the way carrying wood and dried leaves for their cattle. The campsite is located near the Juda Lake and is surrounded by tall trees and mountain slopes, without much wind. We reach by afternoon and stay in camps. 

Day 3: Juda Talab – Kedar Kantha meadow – 4 km

We start post breakfast and trek through the pine and oak trees to reach the open field below the summit. This camping site has excellent views and is one highlight of the trek. There are green pastures nearby and the views towards Himachal are unending. We set camp here for the night. 

Day 4: Kedarkantha peak (3850m) -  and trek back to Sankri – drive to Mori river campsite

It's a long day today. We start early post breakfast and reach the top of the ridge. It's a climb of over 2 hours but the views are very rewarding. After spending some time on the top, we head back to our campsite, have lunch and head towards Sankri & drive till Mori river campsite. We spend the night in tents at Mori.

Day 5: Mori river campsite - Dehradun (210 km) 

Post breakfast we drive from Mori to Dehradun. We reach by evening.

  • A campsite with splendid views of peaks and sunset.
  • Amazing views of Kala Nag, Swargarohini, Banderpunch, Ranglana peaks, which are snow-capped all through the year.
  • Walk over snow covered meadows in winter.

  1. Transport support from and to Dehradun: starting from pickup on day 1 to drop on day 5.
  2. Guide and cook fees.

  5. Porter and mule support to carry camping equipment. Please note that personal luggage can be carried by mules and/or porters on chargeable basis.
  6. All veg meals starting from day 1 dinner to day 5 breakfast. We provide hot breakfast and hot dinner. On trekking days, packed lunch will be provided unless otherwise mentioned.
  7. Tented accommodation throughout the trek.

  3. Any transport support during the trek apart from what is included above.
  4. Rent for trekking shoes is Rs 200 per trekking day. The charges are applicable irrespective of whether the shoes are worn or not during the trek. Availability of shoes need to be confirmed with us.
  5. Rent for walking stick is Rs 50 per trekking day. The charges are applicable irrespective of whether the stick is used or not.
  6. Accommodation in Dehradun.
  7. Personal luggage with mass not exceeding 12 kg per bag per person can be carried by porters/mules @ Rs 250 per day per bag.

  15. Betadine or any antiseptic cream

  18. Hot water bag in winter if needed (we can fill it up in camp, on request)
  19. Asthma inhaler, if needed
  20. Any other specific personal medication.
Cancellation Policy


If the user wishes to cancel any booking due to any reason whatsoever, the same shall be only valid if the vendor is notified of the cancellation in writing on its official address or via e-mail, at least 15 days before the commencement of the trip or adventure activity. Any refund due to the user by the vendor shall be subject to cancellation charges.

Written cancellations will only be acknowledged if they are received by the vendor on their official address or e-mail on working days. Cancellation request received on Sundays and public holidays shall be processed only on the next official working day.


The following refund shall be payable to the user in case of valid cancellation of a booking:

  • If the cancellation request is received before 30 days from the commencement of the trip, the whole amount paid for the trip will be refunded.
  • If the cancellation request is received between 15 to 30 days from the commencement of the trip, 50% of the trip cost shall be refunded.
  • In cases where the cancellation request is not received before 15 days from the commencement of the trip Himalaya Shelter shall not be liable to pay any refund.
  • Cancellation for booking made within 15 days of departure date will not be liable for any refund.

NOTE: 3% processing fee would be charged for cancellation refund.

The above mentioned refunds are subjected to deductions for any expenses that may have been incurred for hotel booking or transport etc., by the vendor.

In cases where the request for cancellation is received after the commencement of the trip or if the user voluntarily drops out of the trip for any reason whatsoever, the vendor shall not be liable to pay any refund. Furthermore, no refund shall be payable by the vendor for any of the service or facility provided by them in their packages, but not availed by the user.

Trail Overview

Kedarkantha peak, situated in the mountains of the Tons river valley is a beautiful ridge peak, easily accessible anytime of the year. In the winters, it snows in this valley and hence views from the summit are very rewarding. The trek goes through the Govind national park and gives you ample time to soak in the flora and fauna of this protected area. The summit lies at an altitude of 3850 m and reaching the top is very satisfying as you are rewarded with views of peaks like the Swargarohini, Banderpooch, Black peak and Ranglana.
